UD Women's Basketball fall to St. Thomas; Perry Scores Personal-Best 24 Points.

HOUSTON – The University of Dallas women's basketball team dropped a 79-50 game to University of St. Thomas on Friday night. The Celts (19-5, 14-3 SCAC) took control of the game in the first half with a 34-15 lead. They shot 43.9 percent from the floor, which included eight made three-pointers. UST netted a 25-8 difference on points off turnovers and pulled down 12 more rebounds (47-35).

Dallas (3-21, 1-16 SCAC) was led by Beyonce Perry (Lake Jackson, Texas) with a personal-best 24 points. She made the team's pair of three-pointers and was a perfect 6-6 at the free throw line. She also dished two assists to go with four rebounds. Jules Oliveti (Southlake, Texas) scored 13 points and pulled in six rebounds to lead the individuals in that column. Alissa Dutton (Houston, Texas) put in six points from the bench.

Dutton made a layup for the visitor's first field goal to make it 3-2. St. Thomas never wavered, building a 11-4 edge that would eventually reach 18-10 through one period. A 16-5 second quarter and 25-14 third quarter sent the Celts out in control in this one. Dallas held a 21-20 scoring lead in the final 10 minutes.

St. Thomas was led by Micayla Hamilton with 15 points, while Olivia Anga tossed in 11, and Sheridan Hopkins finished with 10. The league's top scorer was not required much by the conference foe, but dd post seven rebounds to follow Aerial Starks' top total of eight. Zariah McInnis and Hamilton combined for 10 of the team's 12 assists. McInnis dished six. St. Thomas' bench notched 37 points.

This game was delayed almost two hours due to a shattered backboard during warmups in the men's basketball game at St. Thomas' home court. The game was moved and played at Houston Baptist University.
