GEORGETOWN, TX- The Men's Soccer team hosted the Concordia University Tornados on Friday, September 22nd evening, following the Women's match versus the Tornados.
The Pirates were 3-0-3 heading into this matchup while the Tornados 1-4-1. This game turned into a defensive battle and while Concordia more than doubled the Pirates with shot attempts, 11-5, the Pirates ended up victorious with a 1-0 win.
There was a loose ball in front of the Tornado's net and Nathianel Blake was able to sneak it past everyone getting the lone goal for the match. Cooper Pero & Ashton Bynum were credited with the assist. Brendan Prather earned five saves and the shutout from goal.
The Pirates traveled to wrap up their Homecoming weekend with a match versus Mary Hardin-Baylor, but the game was canceled due to weather conditions.
Next up for the Pirates is a match versus Trinity for the start of conference play on Friday, September 19, at 7:30 PM CDT.
