Volleyball sweeps Austin in SCAC Quarters

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Texas Lutheran volleyball advanced to the SCAC semifinals for the first time since 2017 with a 3-0 sweep of 5th-seed Austin College in the SCAC Quarterfinals, 25-23, 25-13, 25-13, Friday afternoon at Calgaard Gymnasium on the campus of Trinity University.

The Bulldogs (19-12, 9-7 SCAC) hit .198 in the match and held the 'Roos to a .095 hitting percentage. Texas Lutheran was phenomenal from the service line, finishing the match with 9 aces led by 6 from Peyton Sulak (Needville/Needville).

Kacie Hall (Buda/Hays) led the Bulldogs with 11 kills, hitting .500, and adding 5 digs and a block. Maddy Schultz (Richmond/Needville) added 8 kills and 2 blocks. Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) finished with 8 kills, 6 digs and a block.

In addition to her 6 aces, Sulak was dominant up front as a part of the Bulldogs block - leading the Bulldogs with 4 blocks.

Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair) dished out 14 assists and finished with 2 digs. Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) led the Bulldogs with 17 digs.
