SEGUIN, Texas – Southwestern opened SCAC action at Texas Lutheran Tuesday night and defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 to earn their first win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- First-year Jake Swonke put the Pirates on the board in the 13th minute. David Arellano and Christian Lopez played the ball in front of goal and Swonke put it away from five yards out.
- In the second half Arellano and Swonke switched roles and Curran Daniel chipped in as the trio took advantage of a 3-on-1 in the 61st minute as Arellano tapped the ball in from five yards out for the goal and 2-0 Southwestern lead.
- Southwestern outshot TLU 17-15 and had five more corners (6-1).

- Swonke: 1 goal, 1 assist, 3 shots, 2 shot on goal
- Arellano: 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 shot, 1 shot on goal
