Texas Lutheran Pulls Away From Colorado College, 87-53

SEGUIN, TX -- Freshman Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O'Connor) finished with 15 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals to lead Texas Lutheran to a 87-53 win over Colorado College Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.

Twelve of Orozco's points came in the first half, including two threes that saw the Bulldogs (3-5) begin to break the game open. The Tigers (2-9) cut their deficit to as low as sixteen points in the second half before a number of runs saw the Bulldogs stretch their lead to more than 30 points.

While the Tigers shot a lowly 15% from beyond the arc, the Bulldogs shot 9-of-23 from three-point range - including Orozco matching a career-high three threes. Gerrit Twitero (McQueeney/Seguin), who is currently tied for second in the SCAC in three-point percentage, poured in two more.

Freshman Riley Fornerette (Surprise, AZ/Dysart) finished with 12 points and four rebounds off the bench - both career highs. Sebastian Andrade (El Paso/Americas) went for 11 points. Garrett Prince (San Antonio/MacArthur) joined his teammates in double figures with 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks - adding to his conference leading tally. Jamir Mason (Pearland/St. Thomas Episcopal) finished with a team-high eight rebounds.

The Bulldogs forced 17 turnovers in their first wire-to-wire victory of the season.
