CLAREMONT, Calif. – In a thrilling five-set match the Southwestern volleyball team defeated #10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and took down Chapman 3-1 in the evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southwestern was edged out in the first set 25-22 but rallied back to win the second and third 26-24 and 25-23 against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
- CMS dominated the fourth set as the Pirates hit -.075 to fall 25-12, but rallied back to win a thrilling fifth set 16-14.
- SU used a well-balanced attack to win the first set against Chapman 25-23 and followed with a 25-15 set two win.
- Chapman took the third set 25-22 but Southwestern edged out the Panthers in the final set 27-25.
