HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Francisco Horta made the most of his debut as he scored the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute to propel the Eagles past Schreiner University 1-0 Saturday in Ozarks' season-opener. Horta's memorable moment can on a perfect assist from Charleus Emmanuel Ritch just a few yards out in front of the goal. Horta easily buried the shot in the bottom right corner to begin a frenzied Eagle celebration. Behind a steady dose of substitutes, the Eagles eventually wore down the Mountaineers and broke through the defense to record multiple shots in the second half. In the second half, the Eagles' defense allowed only two shots. Goalkeeper Caleb Anderson posted the shutout behind three saves.
