LISLE, Ill. — Southwestern men's lacrosse surrendered the final four goals of the game, including three in the fourth quarter, to lose 11-10 to the Benedictine Eagles. 

Zac Asbury was one of three Pirates to finish with three points, opening the game with a goal off a feed from Cody Foster in the first minute of action. Asbury then found Jack Carolan for a goal and a 2-0 lead almost three minutes in. 

Nik Perkins put Benedictine on the board with an unassisted goal with 6:33 remaining in the first. The Pirates answered with two unanswered scores, getting goals from Tommy Saueressig and an assist from Carolan to Nick Doxey. 

Benedictine picked up a crucial goal from Colin Domek with 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter to stay within two at 4-2. 

Southwestern got two goals from Tyler Johnson early in the second quarter, but Benedictine put four on the board to tie the game before Asbury's goal with 3:06 remaining in the half gave the Pirates a 7-6 lead at the break. 

The Pirates opened the second half by scoring three of the first four goals before Benedictine's Scott Ransom assisted on a goal and scored one of his own as part of the Eagles' 4-0 run to end the game. 

Johnson led Southwestern with three goals. Carolan and Asbury each had two goals and an assist. Hudson Bearden won 14-of-21 faceoff opportunities and had six groundballs. Blake Sitterly finished with 12 saves in the loss. 

Southwestern drops to 4-3 with the loss while Benedictine improves to 5-2. Southwestern will continue its travels next weekend, facing Colorado College on the road on Friday, March 26.
