Men's Tennis Beaten by Howard Payne

LAS COLINAS, Texas - The University of Dallas men's tennis team lost their non-conference match against Howard Payne University on Saturday, falling to 0-9 on the season.

JP Ellwanger and Cayven Yi were beaten 8-4 in their line one doubles match.  Paul Wolfe Jr. and Jude Lagarde were beaten 8-0 at line two doubles.  Line three went to Howard Payne by default.

JP Ellwanger were neck and neck at line one singles.  Ellwanger took the first set 7-6, then Gates came back and won set two 6-0.  With HPU already clinching the match by this point, the pair played a tiebreaker for set three, which Gates won 10-5.

Cayven Yi put up a tough fight on line two, but went down 6-4, 6-1.  Wolfe Jr. was defeated 6-2, 6-0, Lagarde was beaten 6-0, 6-0, and Noah Dreisbach went down 6-0, 6-3.  Line six singles went to HPU by default.
