In a battle of two of the top teams in the West Region, Whitworth University got 61 combined points from its trio of senior guards to defeat Colorado College, 73-66, in the final game of the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic.
Matt Staudacher poured in a game-high 25 points, while Derek Isaak and George Valle added 18 apiece to help the Pirates improve to 5-0.
Isaak, who was named the MVP of the tournament, hit three shots from behind the arc as Whitworth took an early 19-10 lead.
From that point on, the Tigers battled from behind and didn't take the lead until senior forward
James Lonergan sank a short jumper 2:03 into the second half.
CC led 44-43 after sophomore forward
Andrew Maddock scored on a layup with 16:08 remaining in the game, but the Pirates answered with five straight points and never trailed again.
Maddock led the Tigers with 19 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore forward
Chris Martin added a career-high nine points.
The teams will play again on Dec. 12 at George Fox University.
Colorado College (1-3) is idle until Tuesday, Dec. 8, when the Tigers visit Johnson & Wales University in Denver.
