Crusaders Come Back to Defeat Celts

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team celebrated their senior day with a win, completing a comeback from down 2-0 to defeat St. Thomas 3-2.

Things could not have started off worse for the Crusaders, who are in the midst of a tight battle for a spot in the postseason.  A normally steadfast defense made a pair of catatrophic errors early in the first half to give the Celts a 2-0 lead.  Though they struggled in the early goings, the Crusaders came roaring back and leveled the game before the half was done.  Andrea Coppi put the Crusaders on the board with a brilliant solo effort from a tight angle in the 22nd minute, and Andrea Soto tied it up in the 44th minute just seconds after stepping on the pitch.

It was anyone's game in the second half, but Avery Seaman put UD on top for good with a lobbed shot that dipped just under the crossbar from 25 yards out.  The Crusaders defended with their lives for 34 minutes after that, and they were able to see out the 3-2 win to improve to a 4-2-1 conference record.
