The Rhodes College Lynx took their first game of the SCAC Tournament this afternoon, topping Hendrix by a score of 7-2. One inning proved to be the difference as Rhodes put together a 5 run second. Travis Perkins (1-3, 2R, SB) provided a spark by working a 9-pitch at bat with 2 outs. Junior DH Matt Burnick (2-5, 3RBI's) broke the game open with a 2-out 2-run double to right. Junior 1B Matt Killary, Junior SS Lynden Pindling, Junior LF Chinning Arndt, and sophomore 3B Strother White each added RBIs in the first round victory for the Lynx.

Junior RHP Jackson Baker was almost untouchable on the mound. After allowing 3 hits in the first, he surrendered only two more over his final 7 innings of work. He finished the day with 10K's over 8 innings of work, allowing just 5 hits. Junior RHP James Todd finished the game, picking up 2 strikeouts through a scoreless 9^th. The Lynx will take on Birmingham Southern at 7:00 PM tomorrow at USA Stadium in Millington, TN.
