#11 DePauw Stays Perfect in SCAC with Win over Centre

DePauw closed the first half with a 19-3 run and scored the final 12 points of the period on the way to a 77-57 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Centre. The 11th-ranked Tigers improved to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC, while the Colonels dropped to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

DePauw's early lead was trimmed to 23-21 lead after the Colonels converted a five-point play with 6:39 left in the first, but the Tigers scored the seven to push the margin back to nine. After Centre knocked down a three, DePauw rattled off 12 straight to close the half and head to the intermission with a 42-24 lead.

Centre got as close as 14 in the second half and the Tigers led by as many as 29 at 77-48 with 4:40 remaining.

Katie Aldrich matched a career high for DePauw with 23 points and led the Tigers with nine rebound. Kate Walker established a career best with 16 points and Katie Mathews followed with 14 points. Walker and Goff each dished out four assists in the win which was the Tigers' 57th straight SCAC home victory.

Chelsea Benham and Paige Baechle each scored 12 in the loss, while Maggie Prewitt hauled down eight boards and totaled five assists.

DePauw shot 50 percent for the game, while the Colonels connected on 32.7 percent and DePauw held a 40-29 edge on the boards.
