CC Erupts in Second Half to Down St. Thomas

Colorado College erupted for three second-half goals to defeat the University of St. Thomas in its first official Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game of the season on Friday night at AVENA Stadium.

Senior midfielder Hayden Cogswell scored the only goal the Tigers would need when he knocked in the rebound of Will Malloy's direct kick 53 seconds into the second half.
It proved to be Cogswell's first game winner since his freshman season when he scored the first goal in a 3-0 victory over Centenary College on Sept. 30, 2016.

Nearly 10 minutes later, Skyler Stark-Ragsdale added an insurance goal from three yards out after taking a touch from senior midfielder Sam Bermingham. It was Bermingham's team-leading sixth assist of the season.

Freshman forward Griffin Meyer closed out the scoring in the 86th minute when he found the net with a direct kick from the top of the penalty area.

Meyer extended his goal streak to three games and tied junior forward Kiran Singh for the team lead with four goals.

Sophmore goalkeeper Keleher Felton stopped three shots while recording the first clean sheet of his career.

The CC defense held the Celts to nine total shots, only three of which were on goal.

Colorado College launched 12 of its 14 shots in the second half.

The Tigers improved to 6-4-0 overall and 1-0-0 in the SCAC.

Miles Montgomery led the Tigers with three shots.
Felton tied his career-high with three saves.

St. Thomas Standouts
