Haller Nets Four in Loss at Connecticut College

Tom Haller tied his career high with four goals, but his offensive exploits were not enough to get the Colorado College men's lacrosse team a victory on Sunday afternoon at Connecticut College.

Haller scored twice during the first half to help the Tigers cut its deficit to 7-4 with 3:43 remaining in the second quarter, but the Camels answered with the final three goals of the first half and added another 1:33 into the third quarter.

CC was still within striking distance after Elliot Nelson and Jack O'Donnell scored early in the second half to make the score 12-6, however a 7-1 run by Connecticut College sealed the victory.

Nelson tied his season high with three goals, while O'Donnell scored a personal-best two goals and matched his high with three points.

Tyler Borko scored once and dished out four assists for the Tigers, who slipped to 7-7.

Jack Rutter and Jordan Foster scored seven goals apiece for the Camels, who improved to 5-9.

Connecticut College won 21 of 39 faceoffs and compiled a 46-33 advantage in ground balls.

Starting goaltender Andrew Harwood made eight saves for CC during the first half. Connor O'Rourke played the opening 22:28 of the second half and also stopped eight shots.

Jack Ammons led the Tigers defense with four ground balls and a caused turnover.

Colin Smith stopped 13 shots for the Camels during 54:58 between the pipes. Billy Dreyer made a pair of saves in relief.

Colorado College travels to Irving, Texas, this week for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. CT, followed by the championship game on Sunday at noon CT.
