
Ellwanger Shines in Loss to TLU

LAS COLINAS, Texas - The University of Dallas men's tennis team lost their conference match with Texas Lutheran 8-1 on Saturday. They are now 0-12 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.
Cayven Yi and Benjamin Paul put up a tough fight, but lost their line one doubles match 8-4. JP Ellwanger and Noah Dreisbach put Dallas on the board with a standout performance on line two, winning their doubles match 8-5. Jude Lagarde and Paul Wolfe Jr. lost their line three doubles match 8-1.
Ellwanger won his line one singles match 6-1, 6-3 to claim both the singles and the doubles point for the first time in his career. Benjamin Paul nearly forced a tiebreaker set after dropping set one 5-1, but lost set two 7-6 in his line two singles match.
After taking set one 6-3, Yi dropped set two 7-6 after losing the tiebreaker 7-0, then lost set three 6-3. Paul Wolfe Jr. lost hist line four singles match 6-1, 6-3, Lagarde was beaten 6-0, 6-2 on line five, and Dreisbach was defeated 6-1, 6-1 on line six.
