with three minutes remaining. First-year Anna Fareed hit a
penetration layup followed by a three pointer to give Southwestern
the lead once again 31-28 with two minutes to go. Junior Shae
Seagraves’ three-pointer put SU up by six, 34-28 heading into
halftime.
Southwestern came out firing in the second half and built their
lead to 10 quickly. Rhodes responded with an 11-4 run and pulled
within one point, 44-43, with 15:08 to play. SU retained the lead
but was unable to pull away by more than five points.
Rhodes tied it up at 60-60 for just the second time in the contest
with 1:39 to play and took advantage of a costly Pirate turnover to
take the lead for the first time in the game, 60-62, with 43
seconds remaining. The Lynx closed the game out from the free throw
line to secure the 66-62 win.
Seagraves led the way with 18 points while junior Staley Mullins
