Tigers Fall to Austin College at the Buzzer

Kam Hogan heaved in a desperation three-pointer as time expired to give Austin College a 79-77 victory over Colorado College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Friday night at Hughey gym.

Charlie Rounaghi gave the Tigers a 77-74 lead with five seconds remaining, and after CC committed a foul to prevent a game-tying three-pointer, Hogan sank a pair of free throws to pull the 'Roos to within a point.

Colorado College missed a free-throw on the front end of a one-and-one with four seconds to go, and Hogan capitalized at the other end to cap his 16-point performance.

It was a tale of two halves for the Tigers, who were nearly perfect during the first half.

CC shot 50-percent from the floor, including a 7-for-14 effort from behind the arc, and committed only five turnovers.

CooXooEii Black needed only 20 minutes to record his eighth double-double of the season, producing 18 of his game-high 26 points and 13 of his 15 rebounds.

It marked the sixth game in a row and the 12th time this season the senior forward scored at least 20 points in a game.

Black climbed past Chris Lesnansky (2011-15) into eighth place on the program's career scoring chart, finishing the game with 1,492 points.

Rounaghi dished out a career-high 10 assists, the most for a Tiger since Eric Houska finished with 14 in an 88-82 overtime victory against Augsburg College on Nov. 25, 2016. The sophomore point guard added six points and a pair of rebounds.

Devin Roland finished with 18 points for Austin, which earned a split in the season series.

Michael Holland posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the 'Roos.
