CONWAY, Ark. – McMurry University Swimming competed in the 57th Annual Hendrix Relays Friday night, with the women placing fifth with 256 points and the men fourth with 208 points.
The men got a fourth place showing in the 300-yard breaststroke relay, as the team of Alec Satre, Cole Ellis and Terrin Boehmer posted a time of 3:28.30.
McMurry got its best finish of the night in the 500-yard freestyle relay, as the War Hawks placed second in 4:31.22. That group consisted of Brayden Reeves, Satre, Ethan Sykes and Boehmer.
Satre, Sykes and Dany Baki equaled that second place result in the 1500-yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 16:19.70. They bested third place on back by more than a minute.
In the final event of the night, Boehmer, Sykes, Ellis and Satre posted a third place time of 3:30.68 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The War Hawks edged out the fourth and fifth place teams, and missed second by just three seconds.
For the McM women, the trip of Madelaine Smith, Jessica Gryder and Kaitlynn Cozma placed fifth in the 300-yard backstroke relay, posting a time of 3:35.94.
The women had their best event in the 500-yard freestyle relay, as the group of Abigail Swaim, Gryder, Smith and Molly Herrera took fourth in 5:25.69.
McMurry also posted a fourth place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Cozma, Haileigh Brown, Cambria Jaramillo and Cassie Borgfield combined to post a time of 5:27.76.
The War Hawks are back in the pool Saturday for the 52nd Annual Hendrix Classic.
