Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team was swept in a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches on Friday to the University of St. Thomas Celts and the Southwestern University Pirates at Hughey Gymnasium on the campus of Austin College.
The Ladies (9-16, 0-10 SCAC) will face Texas Lutheran University on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. to wrap up their weekend. There will be live stats, but no live video, for Saturday's match at the link below:

Match one recap: St. Thomas 3 Centenary 0:
The Celts (14-7, 4-6 SCAC) took the first set, 25-7, then won the second set 25-16 and clinched the sweep with a 25-20 win in the third set. Centenary finished with 24 digs, 21 kills, 19 assists, and six service aces. St. Thomas totaled 37 kills, 36 assists, 34 digs, and 10 aces.
Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) had a team-high eight digs, two assists, and one kill and freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) had a team-best nine assists to go with five digs, a kill, and a team-leading four aces. Senior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) tallied four assists and three digs and senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) had four digs, three kills, an assist, and an ace.
Freshman OH Jaeda Moreno (Weslaco, Texas) finished with three kills and a pair of digs and sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) recorded a team-high eight kills with two block assists.

The Pirates (12-8, 8-2 SCAC) took set one, 25-11, then won set two by a score of 25-18 and finished off the sweep in the third set, 25-9.
Centenary finished with 45 digs, 24 kills, 22 assists, and an ace. The Pirates totaled 51 digs, 42 kills, 41 assists, and seven aces.
Proctor's 11 digs, Smith's 10 assists, and Lowe's six kills led the Ladies in each category. Smith and Demerjian each recorded eight digs, Demerjian added six assists, and Proctor had five. St. Martin tallied seven kills, a dig, and two block assists and Moreno finished with two digs and two kills
