GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Southwestern men's soccer goalkeeper Jack Viles set a new program record for most shutouts in a season with his ninth, while the Pirates tied the team record with 10 in a 2-0 win over Austin College.

Viles had a light workload against the Kangaroos, stopping both shots he faced to surpass Daniel Poole's top mark of eight shutouts set in 2013.

Southwestern outshot Austin College 11-7, scoring both of its goals off set pieces.

Southwestern's first goal came off a throw-in from the left sideline just inside the final 18 yards of the Pirates' attacking third. Forward Nathaniel Blake triggered the throw-in, finding Caleb Allen, who settled the ball with his head, putting the ball on the ground for Scott Wilson, who snuck the ball into the lower-left corner for his first career goal a little more than 21 minutes into the first half.

The Pirates scored almost 16 minutes into the second half when Skyler Frey's corner kick found Winston Hebert, who headed the ball with force into the back of the net.

Southwestern's 10th shutout of the season tied the 2018 Southwestern record, set in head coach Dustin Norman's first season running the program. The Pirates have two regular-season games remaining. Southwestern will host Dallas on Sunday for Senior Day, then travel the following week for a game against Texas Lutheran on Friday.
