Game one of the NCAA Division III Softball Regional in Pineville was highlighted by an eight strikeout two-hitter by Louisiana College pitcher Rene Schwartzenburg in a 1-0 win by the Lady Wildcats.
Schwartzenburg pitched all seven innings and earned the win for LC while La Verne's Delaney Baylor took the loss.
LC's Mary Alice Roy scored the game's only run in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk b Baylor.
Louisiana College advances to the winner's bracket Saturday at noon while La Verne will play in an elimination game Friday at 6 p.m.

Game 2: Southwestern 3, Texas-Tyler 2 (8 innings)

The Southwestern Pirates made the most of their first appearance in the NCAA Division Softball Regional appearance, downing Texas-Tyler 3-2 in eight innings at the Pineville, La., regional.
Southwestern advances to a winner's bracket game at 2 p.m. Saturday, while Texas-Tyler will face an elimination game against La Verne at 6 p.m. Friday night.

Game 3: East Texas Baptist 3, Mississippi College 1

East Texas Baptist started its NCAA Division III softball regional off with a bang, defeating fellow American Southwest Conference East Division team Mississippi College 3-1 to advance to a winner's bracket showdown with Southwestern (Texas) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Tigers scored two runs in the second inning and one in the seventh to secure the win.
ETBU pitcher Alicia Wright pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out four to secure the win.
Mississippi College, which scored its only run in the third inning, will face a must-win game versus Louisiana College at noon Saturday. Louisiana College would not be eliminated from the tournament were it to lose.


Game 4 (Elimination Game): Texas-Tyler 11, La Verne 8 (Eight Innings)

It took extra innings for the Patriots to do it, but after eight frames and an 11-8 win Texas-Tyler avoided elimination while ending the season of the La Verne Leopards.
After a back-and-forth-contest, Texas-Tyler and La Verne, both of which lost in its regional opener, finished regulation tied 8-8.
The Patriots' Allison Hurt, however, delivered a three-RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to blow open the game. 
The Patriots must wait until the conclusion of two winner's bracket games on Saturday to discover who and when they will next play.

Game 5: Louisiana College 6, Mississippi College 2

The Lady Wildcats handed the Lady Choctaws a season-ending defeat in the first game of the Saturday session of the Pineville, La., NCAA Division III Softball regional.
Louisiana College center fielder Jodi Montagnino, already the school's single-season home run record holder, connected on her 11th homer of the year in the first inning to jumpstart the LC offense.
The Lady Wildcats went on to score three more runs in the third and a run in the fifth en route to the win.
For the second time in as many days, junior pitcher Rene' Schwartzenburg picked up a regional win, following her two-hitter in the tournament opener Friday afternoon with a  seven strikeout, three-hit gem on Saturday.
LC will face the winner of Southwestern (Texas) and East Texas Baptist at 5 p.m. in a winner's bracket game.
Mississippi College is eliminated from the regional. 

Game 6: Southwestern (TX) 3, East Texas Baptist 2

What jitters? After two games in their first NCAA Regional, the Southwestern Pirates have notched two wins and now will face host team Louisiana College at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, this following a 3-2 win by Southwestern over East Texas Baptist.
The game went to the bottom of the sixth tied 1-1 but an error by ETBU pitcher Alicia Wright, a dropped infield fly with two outs, allowed a pair of unearned runs to cross the plate and set up the win for the Pirates.
Lyndsy Maus pitched seven innings and struck out five en route to earning the win.
ETBU will play an elimination game at 8:30 Saturday night against Texas-Tyler.

Game 7: Louisiana College 10, Southwestern 2

The Lady Wildcats stamped their ticket to the NCAA Division III Championship game with a 10-2 win over the Southwestern Pirates.
LC, which is yet to loose in the Pineville, La., Regional will take on whoever remains among Southwestern, Texas-Tyler and East Texas Baptist Sunday at 3 p.m. and will have two chances to win one game and advance to the Division III World Series in Wisconsin next week.
Saturday night against Southwestern, the Lady Wildcats were paced on offense by Ashleigh Clement and Jodi Montagnino, both of whom connected on home runs, Clement in the first and Montagnino in the sixth.
Junior Kelly Williams picked up the win, pitching seven innings and striking out three.
Southwestern will face an elimination game against either Texas-Tyler or ETBU at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Game 8 (Elimination Game): East Texas Baptist 4, Texas-Tyler 3

Texas-Tyler managed to erase a three-run deficit after getting down to its last out in the top of the seventh but it was East Texas Baptist that staved off elimination thanks to a two-out, game-winning, RBI single by Stacy Havner.
Havner took a Stacy Shepherd pitch up the middle to end the game and send the Tigers into a game with Southwestern (Texas) Sunday at 1 p.m. 
The winner of the contest advances to the championship game against Louisiana College at 3 p.m. but would have to defeat LC twice, once on Sunday at 3 p.m. and again Monday at noon to advance to the World Series.

Game 9: East Texas Baptist 3, Southwestern (TX) 1

East Texas Baptist scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to set up a showdown with the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats at the Pineville, La., NCAA Division III Softball Regional Sunday.
The Tigers, who lost to Southwestern Saturday afternoon, will have to defeat Louisiana College, which is still undefeated in regional play, twice (once on Sunday at 3 p.m.) and again at noon Monday to advance to the World Series.
LC needs to win only once to advance to the World Series.


Game 10: East Texas Baptist 3, LC 2

It was a must win for ETBU and the Tigers came through, handing Louisiana College its first loss of the NCAA Division III regional, to force a winner-take-all final game between the same two teams at noon Monday.
Louisiana College held a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth thanks to center fielder Jodi Montagnino's two-run homer in the top of the inning, her third of the tournament and 13th of the season.
LC, however, surrendered three unearned runs in the bottom of the inning and ETBU retired the Lady Wildcats in order in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
Rene' Schwartzenburg (27-3) took the hard-luck loss for LC.


Monday

Game 11: East Texas Baptist 2, LC 0

Box Score

East Texas Baptist scored two unearned runs in the fourth inning and played lock-down defense for the remainder of the game to earn a trip to the NCAA Division III World Series in Eau Claire, Wisc., next week.

Ayrika Henderson picked up the win, going five innings and striking out one while allowing three hits. Alicia Wright got the two-inning save.

Kelly Williams took the loss for Louisiana College.
