GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Softball (2-10) hosted the George Fox University Bruins (2-0) for a three-game series starting Friday afternoon at Taylor-Sanders Field. The Bruins are in town from Newberg, OR and here for six game in three days versus the Pirates as well as Trinity and St. Thomas. George Fox swept the Pirates in the first two games, but the Pirates rallied in the 4th inning of game three, scoring 7 runs, and finished the series with a 7-10 win over the Bruins.
GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTS
- Pitcher Hailey Arrington earned her first win of the season as she came in and limited the Bruins to just one run during her 4 innings on the mound.
- Emily Nevarez hit a solo home run in the 4th inning, sparking a 7-run inning for the Pirates.
- Riley Glenn-Millhouse and Emily Nevarez each hit doubles, while Tauryn Alexander and Erica Otto each were credited with a SAC Fly.
- Lead-off batter Jodi Glenn-Millhouse racked up 2 stolen bases for the day while going 3-3 for the day.
NOTES
- In the Bruins final push in the 7th inning, Harris hit a ball to deep, center field and dual-sport athlete, Erica Otto, met the ball at the top of the fence to secure the second to-last out for the game.
- Ashtyn Aldrete finished the day hitting 2-3
- The Bruins finished the series with 25 hits compared to the Pirates with 21
