Tail End of Road Trip No Nicer to Pirates

Tail End of Road Trip No Nicer to Pirates

DANVILLE, Ky. - The road continued to be cruel to the Southwestern women's soccer team as they fell 2-0 to Centre College on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops SU to 4-4-1 on the year and 0-2 in the SCAC while Centre improves to 7-2 overall, 1-1 in conference.

It was two Colonels who did all the damage to the Pirates as Morgan Collins and Anne Mitchell teamed up on two crosses into the box for two goals, one in each half.

Southwestern had their looks, particularly in the first half, as they received five corner kick opportunities, but were unable to capitalize on any of them.

Jillian Curran headed up the attack for SU with four shots, three on frame. Sarah Nonaka recorded six saves in the game.

The Pirates will regroup as they return home for conference matches this week. They first face Millsaps on Friday. Game time is set for 2pm but may be changed for Southwestern's first-ever night game.
