The Rhodes College Baseball completed the three game conference sweep of Sewanee this afternoon with a 21-6 victory.  Rhodes was able to overcome a 6-2 Sewanee lead after four innings to score 19 unanswered runs to earn the victory.  Senior RHP Taylor Babich earned his 2nd victory of year, as the Lynx improved to 21-17 overall and 11-4 in SCAC play.

Sophomore RHP James Todd made his first start of the year, working the first 3.1 innings, allowing 6 earned runs on 7 hits, no walks, and struck out 2.  Babich entered the game with one out in the fourth and would work the next 1.2 innings.  Babich limited the Sewanee offense to 1 hit, no runs, and struck out 1.  Sophomore RHP Tony Pikos would work a perfect 6th before handing the ball over to senior RHP Matt Gilbert who would allow 1 hit and strike out 1 in his lone inning.

The Rhodes offense pounded out 19 hits, walked 7 times, and took advantage of 4 Sewanee errors for their largest offensive output of the year.  Senior LF Matt Gilbert paced the Lynx offense at the plate, going 3-4 with 3 doubles, 3 runs scored, drove in 1, walked twice, and stole 3 bases.  Sophomore SS Lynden Pindling was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, walked once, and stole a base.  Senior 1B Brent Lindsey was 3-6 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.  Sophomore DH Matt Burnick was 2-3 with a double, run scored, an RBI, and walked once.  Freshman 2B Stewart Martens was 1-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, walked once, and stole a base.  Freshman OF Josh Berkey was 1-1 with a run scored and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore 1B Matt Killary was 1-2 with a run scored.  Freshman SS Jordan Infield was 1-1 with a double, run scored, and an RBI.  Freshman C Marc Corigliano was 1-1 with 2 RBIs and a run scored.

Rhodes will return to action this Thursday in the first game of the SCAC Championship at USA Stadium in Millington, TN.  Rhodes will take on Hendrix College at 12:00.
