Women's soccer edged by Texas Lutheran in regular season finale, 1-0

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Kelly Lochte's 59th-minute goal was the only score of the contest, as Texas Lutheran defeated Southwestern 1-0 in its regular season finale on Thursday evening at Varsity Field.

Lochte's goal was a right-footed strike from the top of the box that went past the outstretch arms of Pirate goalkeeper Kylie Hunt.

Southwestern (7-10-1, 6-5-1 SCAC) managed only seven shots in the contest, including two on goal. Megan McGrath and Kierstyn Luckock each attempted a pair of shots, while one of Luckock's was saved by Bulldog keeper Erin Rose in the final minute of the contest.

Brianna Nunn put the other shot on target for the Pirates.

Prior to the game, Southwestern honored its three seniors – Connor Marshall, Kirsten Mazur and Ashley Moulder.

The Pirates clinched the No. 4 seed in next week's SCAC Tournament, which will be held in Irving. More information about the conference championship will be released this weekend.
