Tigers can’t deliver against UPS

Box Score One day after scoring a season-high six goals, Colorado College was unable to find the net and dropped a 1-0 decision in a defensive battle at the University of Puget Sound on Sunday afternoon.

CC launched 10 total shots, four of which were on frame, but could not get one passed senior goalkeeper Chris McDonald.

The Loggers scored the game's only goal during the 62nd minute when junior forward Andrew White pounced on a loose ball in the box off a corner kick by senior midfielder Chris Shaw. It proved to be their only shot on goal.

The Tigers finished with a 10-8 edge in total shots and both teams had six corner kicks.

Senior Forrest Marowitz did not have to make a save during the first 45 minutes. The only shot senior Brian Graf faced in the second half was the goal.

McDonald made four saves for UPS.

The Tigers slipped to 3-2 overall with their first loss against a Division III opponent. The Loggers improved to 3-1-1.

Colorado College returns home next weekend for the 2012 Bill Boddington Memorial Tournament. The Tigers play host to Fredonia State University on Friday and Otterbein University on Sunday.
