McKee Goes Yard Twice, and Fields Homers as Celts Win Ozarks Series

The St. Thomas (Tex.) baseball team delivered a dominant performance on February 10, 2024, as they secured a convincing 12-2 victory over Ozarks (Ark.) in an away game at David Ross Field in Clarksville, Ark.

St. Thomas wasted no time asserting their dominance, jumping to an early lead with two runs in the first inning, courtesy of Dillon McKee's two-run homer. They extended their lead in the second inning with two more runs, highlighted by Kyle Bearden's RBI walk and Jarod Smith's sacrifice fly.

The third inning proved to be explosive for St. Thomas, as they erupted for seven runs, fueled by a combination of timely hitting and power. Adam Benavidez's RBI single and Israel Fields' grand slam highlighted the offensive onslaught, with Dillon McKee adding another two-run blast to his tally.

Ozarks managed to respond with two runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning, but St. Thomas' commanding lead remained intact.

St. Thomas' pitching staff delivered a solid performance, with Luke Sebesta earning the win after four innings of work, supported by solid relief appearances from Sebastian Soliz and Nick Alumai.

On the offensive side, St. Thomas showcased their firepower with a total of 12 hits, including home runs from Dillon McKee and Israel Fields, who finished the game with a remarkable five RBIs.

With this impressive victory, St. Thomas improved their record to 2-1 for the season, demonstrating their potential as a formidable force in the competitive baseball landscape.
