The Bulldogs move to 3-2 on the 2021 season while the War Hawks of McMurry University fall to 2-4.

The 9 goals by the Bulldogs were the most goals scored since the 7 goals scored vs. Howard Payne at Gustafson Field in 2018.

The action started early as Nicolas Medina (Houston/St. Pius X) scored his fourth goal of the season 25 seconds into the match via an assist from Louis Hart (Missouri City/ Ridge Point) to start the onslaught of goals from the Bulldogs. Cole Kennett (Missouri City/Ridge Point) followed shortly after in the 10th minute before the Bulldogs scored 4 goals over the course of 10 minutes stretching their lead to 5-0 before the 20 minute mark.

Kennett, Hart, Jared Esparza (Cibolo/Steele), Jorge Ugaz (Cibolo/Clemens), and Nestor Ayala (Dorado, Puerto Rico/Wagner) all netted their first goals of the season. Luis Green (Monterrey, Mexico/Smithson Valley) added his third goal of the season.

Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) was in-goal for the Bulldogs and defended 3 goals to maintain another clean sheet to secure the Bulldogs' third shutout of the season.

Discussing this weekend, Coach Salazar stated, "It was our first two game weekend in two years (due to COVID-19) and we couldn't get too down ourselves after not getting the result we wanted in the first match of the weekend. I'm proud of how we responded."

Texas Lutheran is back in action Friday, September 24th, under the lights at Gustafson Field as they face off against Centenary College (LA) at 7:30 PM.
