Noel Pratts and Cecily Woolfolk Dominate in Women's Basketball Win Over Dallas

IRVING, Texas – The Southwestern University Pirates women's basketball team had three starters in double figures to defeat the University of Dallas Crusaders 68-50 to sweep the season series.

Cecily Woolfolk was unstoppable inside, scoring 20 points on 9-for-11 shooting with six rebounds and assist in just 22 minutes. Noel Pratts balanced that out with 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting, finding her touch from long range to hit all three of her 3-pointers while dishing out five assists. Lauren Fulenwider added 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting, hitting a pair of 3-pointers and free throws.

The Pirates opened the game with a dominant defensive first quarter, limiting the Crusaders to just five points on 1-for-12 shooting while Woolfolk established herself early with eight points on five shots.

Pratts caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 12 points on 3-for-4 shooting, hitting both of her 3-pointers and all four of her free throw attempts to give the Pirates a 41-17 lead at the break.

Southwestern outscored Dallas 14-12 in the third quarter and emptied the bench over the final half of the fourth quarter to close out the victory.

For the game, the Pirates shot 40.3 percent, outscoring Dallas 22-11 in points off turnovers.

With the win, the Pirates improve to 8-15 on the season and 6-10 in conference play. Southwestern will wrap up its regular season with a pair of home games, hosting Colorado College on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Johnson & Wales University Denver on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6:00 p.m.
