GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Southwestern men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts. The Pirates defeated Linfield 8-1, but dropped a 5-4 decision to No. 20 Texas-Tyler in the nightcap.
In the opening match of the day, Southwestern (10-3) claimed two of three points in doubles competition and then picked up all six points in singles play.
The Pirates picked up only one doubles point against Texas-Tyler and then split the singles matches, falling short.
Southwestern will return to action Sunday against No. 4 Middlebury. First serve is slated for 10 a.m.
