No. 25 Baseball falls to #15 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- No. 25 Texas Lutheran baseball was unable to dig out of an early deficit and lost 14-3 to #15 Trinity on Friday at Trinity Baseball Field. The Bulldogs and Tigers will face off again on Saturday at Trinity Baseball Field at 7PM. All streaming and live stats are available on tlbulldogs.com.

Texas Lutheran scored three runs in the top of the first via an RBI double from Joe Jimenez (San Antonio/Johnson) and a two-run home run from Tyler Post (San Antonio/Johnson), his seventh of the season, to take a 3-0 lead.

Trinity would respond with four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-3 lead. Trinity would tack on a run in the third, a pair of runs in the fourth, and combine for seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to put the game out of reach. Joe Burch started and took the loss to drop to 6-3 on the season.

Joe Jimenez finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored, while Post was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Aric Vasquez (San Antonio/Brandeis) would register the Bulldogs only other hit on the night.
