Lynx Fall to Majors in 11

The Rhodes College baseball team dropped their second game of the season this afternoon to Millsaps College 12-11 in 11 innings.  The Lynx took an early 6-2 lead after 2 innings, both teams added a run in third, and Millsaps eventually took a 8-7 lead in bottom of the seventh.  Rhodes tied the game in the top of the ninth to force extra innings.  The Lynx put up three runs in the top of the eleventh, but were unable to hold off the Majors in the bottom half of the inning as Millsaps scored 4 to earn the victory.

Sophomore Jackson Baker made his first start of the season working the first 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, 5 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 4.  Senior Hunter Chandler worked the next 3.2 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 unearned runs, no walks, and struck out 3.  Senior Taylor Babich worked the next 2.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 1 walk, and struck out 3.  Babich picked up the loss for the Lynx and is now 0-1 on the year.

The Lynx offense was led by senior RF Brent Lindsey who was 3-5 on the day with a homerun, 5 RBIs, run scored, and walked once.  Senior CF Matt Gilbert was 2-5 with 3 runs scored and a walk.  Sophomore 3B Lynden Pindling went 3-6 on the day with a double and 2 runs scored.  Freshman 1B Marc Corigliano was 1-4 on the day with a double, 3 RBIs, and a run scored.
