Celts edged 1-0 at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Celts of the University of St. Thomas returned to Texas with a two-match split of their Colorado trip Sunday after losing 1-0 at Colorado College.

The host Tigers scored the match's only goal barely four minutes after the halftime restart. Colorado College would not be able to relax until the match's final whistle, as UST fired six shots over the last 40 minutes of the contest.

UST's two shots on goal came during the Celts' attempts to tie the match. Joshua Lockhart's shot in the 57th minute was turned away by CC goalkeeper Keller Mochel. Fabrizio Policastro also fired a shot on goal in the 86th minute, but it, too, was turned away.

Pedro Medrano made three saves for the Celts in goal.

The Celts return to action Friday when they host Centenary College at Houston Sports Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
