Women's Soccer Drops Road Match at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. - The Austin College women's soccer team fell in a 2-0 hole at the break and was unable to recover, dropping a 3-0 decision at undefeated Centenary on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now 2-5-1 overall on the year.

Centenary controlled possession for much of the game, holding a 31-to-4 shot advantage over the 'Roos, but Austin College managed to keep the Ladies off the board until the 26th minute of action. That shifted the momentum completely to Centenary in the opening half, as the Ladies tacked on another goal four and a half minutes later to make it a two goal advantage at halftime. The score remained 2-0 until midway through the second half, when Centenary found the net again in the 76th minute, and that's how things would end in the non-conference matchup.

Maya Erwin made nine saves for Austin College, and the 'Roos will be looking to bounce back on Sunday when they travel to Houston to take on the University of St. Thomas at noon.
