Auguste keys late run as CC tops Centre

Melanie Auguste scored 14 of her game-high 26 points in the final four minutes to lead Colorado College to a 70-67 victory at Centre College on Friday night.
 
The Tigers trailed 56-50 when Chelsea Goodman connected from long range with 4:25 remaining in the game, but CC knocked down three consecutive three-point shots to take a 59-56 lead and never trailed again.
 
The Colonels had a chance to tie the game with two seconds remaining, but Eliese Hansberry blocked Maggie Prewitt's desperation three pointer to secure CC's third consecutive come-from-behind victory.
 
Auguste surpassed the 20-point barrier for the sixth time this season and completed her sixth double-double with 10 rebounds. She also dished out eight assists.
 
Alyssa Aldaz had a season-high 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Hansberry finished with 10 points and pulled down five rebounds.
 
Prewitt led the Colonels with 24 points, while Goodman added 19.
 
Colorado College improved to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the SCAC. Centre dropped to 9-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
 
The Tigers will play the last of five consecutive road games on Sunday at DePauw University.
