Box Score For 80 minutes, Colorado College played like the No. 1 team in the country.

But during the final 10 minutes, top-ranked Trinity University made two clutch plays and escaped Washburn Field with a 2-1 victory.

CC was clearly the dominant team in the first half, moving the ball crisply while amassing an 8-2 advantage in total shots. 

The Colorado Tigers had several dangerous scoring opportunities, the best of which occurred in the 21st minute when freshman midfielder Hayden Cogswell hit the far post with a crossing shot from the top of the box.

CC took the lead in the 65th minute when Joel Frykholm unleashed a shot from 22 yards out on the left that hit TU's Zac Treu and went past goalkeeper Todd Whittaker on the left side.

With 18:13 to play, Sam Markin pressured a Trinity defender into a soft pass and beat Whittaker to the ball, but his sliding shot from left side of the box went just outside the near post.

Sophomore midfielder Laurence Wyke leveled the score in the 81st minute when his header off a cross from Ryan Hunter went back across the crease and past Colorado College keeper Theo Hooker.

A little more than six minutes later, Trinity's Kellen Reid sent a cross into the box and Donovan Smith pounced on the loose ball after CC failed on a clearing attempt.

Colorado College finished with a 13-6 margin in total shots, while TU had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Hooker finished with one save for CC, which slipped to 8-2-1 overall and 6-2-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Whittaker stopped four shots for Trinity, which improved to 12-0-0 overall and 8-0-0 in the SCAC,
