Men's Soccer Scores 7 in Rout of Sul Ross

Men's Soccer won their fourth game in a row against non-conference opponent Sul Ross 7-0. Backed by a four-goal performance from Taty Aleman, the Celts also recorded their first shutout of the season.

The first 32 minutes of the match featured a draw between both teams. However, the Celts, sparked by Juan Gutierrez, would put themselves on the board and go up 1-0 in the 32nd minute. Darin Garcia would follow with a goal of his own to open the second half in the 52nd minute, then Ian Alvarez would continue the barrage with a goal in the 57th minute. From there it was the Taty Aleman show. Aleman would score four straight goals in St Thomas' rout of Sul Ross, in the span of just 23 minutes. Two were assisted by Vinh le, who recorded his first points of the season, as the Celts topped the Lobos by an impressive score of 7-0.

In goal for the St Thomas, Cristo Gayoso recorded his first clean sheet of the season. The Goalkeeper would play all 90 minutes and prevented any chances for Sul Ross with zero shots on goal allowed. 

Up next, Men's Soccer plays conference opponent Southwestern University. The game will take place at home Friday September 16th at 5pm.
