GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Men's Tennis traveled to Seguin, TX for a double-header versus conference opponent, Texas Lutheran and a challenging non-conference match against Our Lady of the Lake. The No. 36 men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six, while snapping Texas Lutheran's six-game streak, sweeping their way to a 9-0 win. The men's tennis team put up a strong fight against an Our Lady of the Lake team that is ranked No. 16 in NAIA, but fell to the Saints 2-5.
VERSUS Texas Lutheran
- Travis Rafferty and Ryan Flanagan picked up identical 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
- Rylan Hastings (6-1, 7-6 at No. 3), Parth Patel (6-2, 6-4 at No. 4), Jared Burton (6-3, 6-0 at No. 5) and Landon Sosebee (6-3, 6-4 at No. 6) added straight-set wins.
- Hastings and Anton Borovik had a shutout win at 3 doubles.
- Rafferty and Burton won 8-2 at No. 2 and Patel and Bernardo Clemente completed the sweep with an 8-5 win at No. 1.
VERSUS Our Lady of the Lake
- Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel took an impressive 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, with Clemente following up with a great comeback win at 5 singles, taking two tiebreakers.
- Ryan Flanagan earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles, and Travis Rafferty put up a great battle through a long three-setter before falling 7-5, 4-6,8-10.
- Oscar Roy and Joseph Snyman faced the No. 13 ranked doubles team in NAIA, falling just 6-4, and Roy faced the No. 10 singles player, taking him to a tiebreaker in the second set before falling 6-3, 7-6.
