Underclassmen propel Tigers past Hendrix

Box Score It may have been senior day for Jeremiah Waters, but the Tigers' underclassmen shined in their final home game of the season as Colorado College cruised to a 100-74 victory over Hendrix College on Saturday afternoon at Reid Gymnasium.  
 
Chris Lesnansky paced CC with a team-high 22 points, 17 of which came in the first half. It marked the fourth time this season the freshman forward scored 20 or more points in a game.
 
Sophomore guard Ryan Milne recorded his first double-double, scoring 20 points and dishing out a career-high 13 assists without a turnover.

Sophomore forward Daniel Webb tied his career high with 12 points, while junior forward Ian Rewoldt added a team-high 10 rebounds, nine points and three assists.
 
CC jumped out to a 14-2 lead, but the Warriors cut their deficit to four points when Luke Vance made the second of two free throws with 12:28 remaining, but the Tigers answered with an 11-4 run to extend its advantage to 27-16 with 8:17 left in the half.
 
After Vance trimmed Colorado College's lead to 30-23 on a jumper with 4:55 remaining in the first half, Lesnansky hit a layup to ignite a 17-4 Tiger run to close out the half.
 
Jeremiah Waters went 3-for-4 from behind the arc during the opening 20 minutes, including a buzzer beater from the left wing that gave the Tigers a 47-27 lead at the break. He ended his final home game with 15 points and a season-high eight rebounds.
 
CC led by as many as 36 points during the second half which saw head coach Andy Partee begin to empty the bench with 11 minutes remaining in the game.

Freshman forward Joe Howard made four of six shots from the floor and finished with a season-high eight points. He also grabbed five rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.

Freshman forward Davis Tutt scored the Tigers' season-high 100th point on a 3-pointer with 14 seconds to play, giving CC its largest margin of victory this season.
 
The Warriors were led by Nick Heathscott with 15 points, followed by Colton Primm with 14 points.
 
Colorado College evened its overall record at 12-12 and improved to 8-8 in the SCAC. Hendrix fell to 6-19 on the season and 4-12 in conference play.
 
The Tigers will find out who they play in the first round of the SCAC Tournament after Sunday's games. The conference tournament begins next Friday with quarterfinals at Birmingham-Southern College.
