41 Point Second Half Powers Men's Basketball over TLU

41 Point Second Half Powers Men's Basketball over TLU

Men's basketball continued their undefeated SCAC run picking up a win against the TLU Bulldogs 60-47. Despite being down five at the half, a 41-point second period powered the Celts to their fifth straight victory.

In the first half, the Bulldogs were able to limit the Celts to just 19 points. This was fueled by an 11-point Bulldog scoring run as St. Thomas found themselves down 24-19 at the half. However, the second half was a different story as the Celts were able to score 41 points. At the six-minute mark of the period, St. Thomas found themselves with the lead and never looked back. They only added to their lead as a nine-point scoring run powered this offensive second half. Ricky Altamirano also drained three-three-point shots to help put the Bulldogs away. As time expired the Celts had their largest lead of the game at 13 and won 60-47.

Calvin Williams IV continued his strong season with 18 points and nine rebounds. Zack Golaszewski also dished out four assists and shot a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line.

Up next, Men's Basketball continues SCAC play on the road at Southwestern! Tune in at 6 PM as the Celts look for another conference victory.
