IRVING, Texas -- The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their home opener against the McMurry University Warhawks (TX) on Sunday, with a final score of 0-1. Dallas falls to 0-2 on the year.
The Crusaders came out aggressive with five shots on the goal before allowing a single McMurry shot on the goal. Although Dallas had more opportunities to score, there were no conversions. McMurry stood tall inside of the box and fended off all five attempts.
Dallas would make a few more runs at the goal in the second period, getting downhill quickly but no success at the net. The Crusaders ran out of gas late in the second, allowing a Warhawk's missile to find the net from about 25 feet out. The Warhawks game-winner came in the 79th minute.
The Crusaders managed to get a few pressures but would inevitably fall short.
