Sewanee Stings Dallas Womens Soccer, 4-1

On Friday afternoon the Lady Crusaders lost to Sewanee 4-1, allowing three first half goals. Dallas matched the opposition 1-1 in the second half but the three goal deficit proved to be too much. UD got on the board when freshman forward Melissa Carpenter (Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin H.S.) converted on a breakaway in the 62nd minute. Freshman forward Summer Northern (Castle Rock, CO/Douglas County H.S.) and freshman midfielder Marie Meagher (Grand Forks, ND/Red River H.S.) combined for the assists on the score. Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Boryca (Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) made 7 saves on 11 shots.

With the loss, the Crusaders drop to 5-8 for the year just over midway through the season. UD will continue their six game home stand this Sunday against Oglethorpe University at 12:00pm.
