Tramutolo fuels comeback win over Sewanee

Box Score Sophomore guard Jake Tramutolo scored 14 of his career-high 21 points during the second half as Colorado College came from behind to defeat Sewanee, 68-60, on Sunday afternoon at Reid Gymnasium.

Tramutolo drained a pair of 3-pointers during an 8-2 run, including one that tied the game at 53-53 with 4:54 to play. Two and a half minutes later, he knocked down a trey from the left corner to put the home team ahead for good at 58-55.

After Valentino Bryant made the second of two free throws to trim Sewanee's deficit to two points, sophomore guard Ryan Milne buried a 3-pointer of his own and then sank four consecutive free throws to put CC ahead by nine points with just 30 seconds to play.

Milne also finished with 21 points, reaching the 20-point mark for the seventh time this season.

Colorado College made 11 of 20 attempts from behind the arc while Sewanee went 7-for-20.

Junior forward Ian Rewoldt grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and added eight points and three steals for CC.

Bryant led the Tennessee Tigers with 14 points and three assists.

Colorado College led 30-24 after senior forward Jeremiah Waters connected from long range with 4:22 to play, but Sewanee closed out the first half with a 10-3 run to take one-point lead into the break.

The visitors used a 15-8 run in the opening minutes of the second half to build a 49-41 advantage on a Bryant jumper with 10:15 to play. Sewanee owned a 51-45 lead when Trent Williams scored the last of his 11 points on a layup with 8:18 to go.

CC improved to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Sewanee slipped to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Colorado College returns to the road next weekend for conference games at Millsaps College and Rhodes College on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
