Milne, Tigers torch Johnson & Wales

Box Score Ryan Milne poured in 31 points to lead Colorado College to an 84-75 non-conference victory over Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night at Reid Gymnasium.

Milne connected on five of seven 3-point attempts during the second half as he reached the 30-point mark for the second time this season.

The sophomore guard also dished out four assists and became the 15th player in program history to reach 200 for his career. He finished the game with 201 and is now tied with Jarrell Sweet for 13 on CC's all-time list.

Freshman forward Chris Lesnansky posted his second double-double in the last three games with 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Jeremiah Waters connected on four of his six attempts from 3-point range, giving him 160 for his career. The senior forward moved up to No. 7 on Colorado College's career chart.

The Tigers buried 10 of 15 shots from behind the arc in the second half after connecting on just three of 10 during the opening 20 minutes.

CC shot 65-percent from the floor during the second half after making just 9 of 27 shots from the floor to begin the game.
Junior guard Jake Campbell led the Wildcats with 23 points, while junior guard Chris O'Neal finished with 14. Sophomore forward Kahler Grandbouche grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

After O'neal tied the game at 45-45 on a 3-pointer with 14:06 to play, Milne hit back-to-back shots from long range to ignite a 14-4 run that put the Tigers up 59-49 midway with 9:57 to play.

JWU pulled to within four points on a layup by O'Neal with 6:31 to go, but a pair of long-range buckets by sophomore guard Jake Tramutolo returned CC's lead to 10 points a little more than two minutes later.

Colorado College led 21-11 after Milne drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 8:09 remaining in the first half, but Campbell scored eight points during a 14-4 run to help the Wildcats tie the contest at 25-25 just under four minutes later.

Corey Puckett gave JWU a 31-29 at the break after he hit a jumper from the left wing with a fraction under three seconds to play.
The Tigers improved to 11-12 on the season, while the Wildcats slipped to 7-20.

Colorado College plays host to Hendrix College in its final Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game of the regular season on Saturday at 3 p.m.
