The Rhodes College baseball team completed the weekend sweep of Louisiana College this afternoon by taking a double header against the Wildcats 3-2 and 7-2, respectively.  Junior Babich picked up his first victory of the season in the first game as freshman Jackson Baker collected his first collegiate victory in the second game.  The Lynx are now 5-1 on the season.

In the first game, Babich, who did not give up a hit until the bottom of the fifth, worked 6.2 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, no earned runs, walked 4, and struck out 4.   Babich is now 1-0 on the year.  Senior Max Gertz got the final out of the game en route to his second save of the year.

Freshman 2B Nick Belisle paced the Lynx offense going 2-4 with a run scored.  Junior 1B Brogan Jayne was 1-3 with 2 RBIs.  Junior C Chris Conkell was 1-3 with an RBI.

The Lynx then finished off the three game sweep with a 7-2 victory.  Freshman Jackson Baker got the victory working 5.2 innings, allowing 4 hits, one run, no earned runs, walked 4, and struck out 4.  Junior Matt Ungashick worked the last 1.1 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run, walked 1, and struck out 1.  This was Ungashick's first save of the season.

Senior 2B Andy Boucher led the offense going 1-3 with 3 RBIs.  Freshman OF Johnny Brill went 1-2 with 2 walks and stole a base.  Junior 3B Kyle Peterson went 2-4 with a run scored and drove in 2.  Junior DH Chris Conkell went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.  Junior RF Matt Gilbert was 1-3 on the day with 2 runs scored.

Rhodes will return to action this weekend as they travel to Atlanta, GA for the Rawlings Classic hosted by Emory University.
