Men's Soccer opened up the 2021 season with a dominant 6-0 victory over Howard Payne. The Celts shined both offensively and defensively in this regional bout.
St. Thomas would jump on the Yellow Jackets early, netting two goals the first 45 minutes. Gabe Salako would score the first goal of the 2021 season, Andres Marques assisting. Only four minutes later, Marques would notch his first goal of the season with a header off of Luis Bencomo's corner kick.
The Celts would continue their offensive dominance in the second half, doubling their first half goal total. Eddie Molina would strike first in the 59th minute to practically putting the game away. Ten minutes later, in the 69th minute Daniel Castro would find the back of the net on an unassisted break away goal. With the game winding down, Victor Zaidan would provide a spark off the bench, scoring two goals within a four-minute span.
Defensively, the Celts only surrendered six shots, two of them being on goal.
Men's Soccer will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 3rd, to take on McMurry at Houston Sports Park.
