Seniors lead Tigers to 56-48 win over Centenary

Box Score Senior forwards Kalli Kemling and Marissa Gradoz combined for 25 points and 25 rebounds to lead Colorado College to a 56-48 victory over Centenary College on Friday night at Reid Arena.

Kemling recorded the first double-double of her career, scoring a team-high 13 points and grabbing a career-best 16 rebounds.

Gradoz, who scored all 12 of her points in the second half, narrowly missed her own double-double by finishing with nine rebounds.

With a pair of assists, Gradoz surpassed Becky Luetjen's (2008-12) career total of 217 and now ranks fourth in program history with
218.

The Ladies took a 43-39 lead when senior guard Vashni Sharp-Moore scored with 7:03 remaining in the game. CC responded with a 12-2 run and built a 51-45 on a layup by Danielle Davis with 1:54 to play.

Centenary pulled to within three points when freshman forward Briana Edwards completed a three-point play with 65 seconds to go, but the Ladies missed their final three shots from the floor and the Tigers sealed the game by scoring the final seven points.

Vashni Sharp-Moore paced Centenary with a game-high 14 points, while Edwards grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Tigers improved to 4-18 overall and are tied with the University of Dallas for third place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 4-8 record. The Ladies slipped to 5-17 overall and 4-9 in league play.

Colorado College and Centenary will play the rubber match of their three-game series on Saturday at 6 p.m.
