Sherman, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs on Saturday morning in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest inside the Sid Richardson Gymnasium on the campus of Austin College.

The Ladies are now 9-17 overall and 0-11 in SCAC play while the Bulldogs improved to 22-5 overall and 10-2 in conference play. Centenary was swept in a pair of matches on Friday by the St. Thomas Celts and the Southwestern University Pirates.

TLU took set one, 25-20, then won the second set by a 25-21 count, and closed out the sweep with a 25-12 win in set three. The Ladies finished with 58 digs, 25 assists, 25 kills, and two servicer aces. The Bulldogs tallied 61 digs, 45 kills, 41 assists, and six aces.

Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) led all players with 23 digs while freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas), sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.), and sophomore OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) each recorded eight digs. Senior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) led the Ladies in assists with 12 and Smith added 10.

Freshman MB Susi Curtis (Haslet, Texas) had four block assists and four kills and a dig. Junior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had five digs and senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) had a solid match with four kills, three digs, a solo block, block assist, and an ace.

Freshman MB/OH Jordan Wheeler (Baton Rouge, La.) had five kills and three block assists, and sophomore MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) finished with six kills and two block assists.

The Ladies will next be in action on Tuesday, Oct. 18 as they return home to face the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders (4-17) in a non-conference match set for 6 p.m. at the Gold Dome.
