TEMPLE – McMurry jumped up two spots from fourth to finish second in the UMHB Fall Invitational at Sammons Park Golf Club on Tuesday.
McMurry trimmed three strokes off of Monday's +10 to shoot past Centenary and Mary Hardin-Baylor into second. Gettysburg won the tournament at 14 under. McMurry finished at 17 over.

Tripten Roberts finishes with back-to-back birdies to earn All-Tournament team."
Tripten Roberts led the way for the War Hawks, shooting rounds of 71 and 69 for 140 and sixth place.
Cullen Timms was right behind at 141 in seventh with rounds of 70 and 71.
Eli Brinton placed 16
th at 147 after rounds of 74 and 73.
Owen Morris was tied for 22
nd, shooting 75 and 74 for 149.
Caden Cawvey had rounds of 76 and 78 for 154 and 32
nd place.
Tallon Burgess was 41
st at 157 after rounds of 78 and 79.
McMurry had its best success on the first hole with four of six players notching birdies there on Tuesday. Half the team also had birdies on the 12
th hole.
Roberts had three birdies in the second round on holes 6, 7 and 17. He finished with six for the tournament with birdies on holes 1, 6 and 12 on Monday.
Timms had birdies on 1, 4, 11, 12 and 17 in the second round to bring his tournament total to 11. Timms birdied holes 1, 11, 13, 14 and 15 on Monday.
Brinton birdied holes 2 and 8 on the second day after going one-under on holes 10 and 12 on Monday.
Morris came away with three birdies on Tuesday on holes 1, 2 and 14 to go with Monday's birdies on 3, 12 and 15.
Cawvey had Tuesday birdies on holes 1, 5, 7 and 12. That brought his total to six after having birdied 3 and 11 on Monday.
Burgess recorded birdies on holes 1, 12, 16 and 18 on Tuesday.

Eli Brinton birdies his last, the #1 handicap hole to finish inside Top 20 (16th).
Owen Morris played as tough as you could ask anyone because he struggled early and still managed to grind out three birdies in his last round, 74. This team is full of talent. It's a matter of who is going to get it going each week. I'm very excited about this squad."
McMurry's men return to action on Oct. 7-8 at the University of the Southwest Fall Invitational in Hobbs, N.M.
